About Lambriggan Court

The holiday cottages are set in eight acres of well-maintained gardens and grounds, with orchards, lakes and livestock too.

Lambriggan has a rich history and was once home to Thomas Tonkin, said to be the inspiration for Winston Graham’s Ross Poldark.

There are also lots of film locations nearby that were featured in the TV series of Poldark .

The Owners

Fiona and Gary arrived at Lambriggan Court in 2013.  Gary breeds pedigree sheep and is also an historian (specialising in Cornish history) and a trustee of the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  Fiona has extensive experience in the hospitality industry and enjoys playing golf. They both love walking the Cornish cliffs and beaches and have a passion for visiting historic properties in the area. So between them they are an invaluable source of information.

They’re happy to talk about Lambriggan and the local area, and can recommend some places to visit. If you want to have a chat to find out more about Lambriggan and the local area, please do. Or – if you prefer – they are just as happy to leave you to enjoy this special place without interference. It’s your choice!

Our eco ethics

At Lambriggan we are committed to sustaining a green environment. The majority of the heating and hot water at Lambriggan holiday cottages comes from geothermal ground source heat pumps, and everything is sourced from local suppliers and artisan producers whenever possible.

Logs for the woodburners come from our own sustainable woodland or from nearby Devichoys Wood (where oak has been pollarded for hundreds of years). We cut them and season them here at Lambriggan, further minimising our carbon footprint.

We also produce our own apple juice from Lambriggan’s orchards, as well as meat from our flock of pedigree sheep and eggs from our hens and ducks. You’re very welcome to help yourself every morning to the freshest eggs it is possible to eat! If you’re used to supermarket eggs, you’re in for a real treat.
